This Shetland 27 was a little overdue for some antifoul !!The hull of this boat was seriously lacking protection and is a good example of the dangers of skimping on antifoul, either by applying too thin a coating or leaving too long between coatings.
It is important also to use the correct type of antifoul for the conditions,i.e. fresh or salt water, speed of boat etc.
As it happens this boat was only 2 years old. My page on new boats will explain.
